Energy upgrading of buildings and installations
The need to increase energy efficiency concerns three key issues for the future of Europe and the whole planet: the lack of energy resources, the climate change and the financial crisis.
Existing decisions (Directive 2012/27/EU, Law 4342/2015) set the objectives of the energy upgrading at Community and National Levels.
In Greece, the energy consumption increase in the building sector, compared to 1990, is now very high. In the secondary sector it exceeds 60% and in the tertiary sector 300%.
The dramatic increase in energy consumption combined with climate change has highlighted Sustainable Development as the dominant issue. Because Sustainable Development sets environmental sustainability as priority.
