Replacement of Collectors and Piping Parts of the Air Conditioning Network at the Athens Naval Hospital. The new grids were built with the Heat Pipe Adapter and Component System. The new piping is polypropylene PP-R Clima made, with an extra layer of EVOH film outer layer.
Oxygen barrier pipes manage to minimize oxygen leakage through the walls of plastic pipes in closed networks, in order to protect the metal parts of the networks from oxidation, as well as the creation of sludge and rust.
PP-R pipes and fittings have a special ion stabilizer that prevents any influence of copper ions on warm water.
Expansion calculations and the selection and placement of special components are important data in the networks’ construction. Special supports and expansion joints were used to complete the project, based on calculations according to the Construction Manual.
Where the old network connects to the new one, it is required to place oxygen contractions and to use Welding. For the workers safety and to avoid odors in the Hospital, we used a Suppressive Machine with Absolute Filters, capable of cleaning the air and dissolving odors.
The work was completed according to the Timetable, while the hospital kept operating normally, without any interruptions.
